ABOUT
Wing Tang is a Landscape Designer who earns a Master of Landscape Architecture degree at The City College of New York. She is a Fine Arts graduate of Parsons, The New School for Design. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Wing is fascinated by the crowded nature in the city juxtapose to the natural beauty in the landscapes. The dynamic effect between the rigid urban forest and feral landscapes gave insights to her professional pursuit as well as intellectual manifestos. Wing uses painting and drawing to expose moments in spaces and the reoccurring idea of travelling. Despite of being depictions of spaces, these two dimensional surfaces make the places and journeys intangible, aerial and dreamy; they are meant to remain on papers and the imaginary spaces.
"what is required, contrary to mainstream environmentalism...is ecology without nature...What exists are strange, uncanny beings, some of whome are alive, some of whom are not, and all of whom are uneasily difficult to specify as living, dead, inorganic, organic, undead. One if those being is us. We are the entity among the grass, the gravestones, moldering bonds, sunlight, and insects."
